Here at innocent, we’re on a mission to make it easier for everyone to get more fruit and veg into their bodies. We started back in 1999 and since then we’ve gone from selling a few smoothies at a music festival to becoming one of Europe’s biggest drinks companies with around 1,000 people (and the B Corp seal of approval).

It’s nice to be able to say things like that but we’re not patting ourselves on the back just yet. We want to show everyone that it’s possible to be a successful business while looking after people and the planet too, so we’re trying to get better in pretty much every way. And that’s where this job comes in.

We’re looking for a Controllership and Reporting Lead to join our Finance & Strategy team, reporting to our Head of Financial Planning & Analysis. This role helps keep innocent’s financial world accurate, compliant and running smoothly, which is rather important when lots of money, countries and spreadsheets are involved.

As innocent grows from a big little company into a little big company, we need strong financial governance, better controls and clear reporting that helps people make good decisions. You’ll look after group reporting, treasury and our outsourced finance partnership, making sure the essentials are done brilliantly and the trickier bits are explained clearly. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, internal teams and external partners to keep our financial licence to operate in very good shape.

you’ll be

  • Leading group cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning and treasury activity across our different entities.
  • Managing banking relationships, cash pooling, fund transfers and foreign exchange hedging, also known as FX hedging.
  • Owning group reporting, including actuals, consolidated reporting and shareholder reporting.
  • Advising on technical accounting matters, including IFRS, US GAAP and local European accounting rules.
  • Working closely with our outsourced finance partner across Record to Report, Source to Pay and Customer to Cash processes.
  • Monitoring service performance against Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators, making sure things are delivered properly and issues are sorted quickly.
  • Supporting clean audits, timely filings, balance sheet reviews and strong financial controls.
  • Partnering with senior leaders and external teams to explain actuals, accounting changes and complex financial topics in a useful, human way.
  • Managing a small team and helping them grow.

you’ll have

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, with confidence working across consolidated reporting, financial controls and compliance.
  • Experience in financial reporting within a complex, multi-currency business.
  • A good understanding of treasury management, cash flow forecasting and foreign exchange exposure.
  • Experience working with outsourced finance operations or shared service partners.
  • The ability to challenge constructively, influence well and hold teams accountable without making everyone hide behind their laptops.
  • Clear communication skills, especially when turning complex financial information into something useful for people who do not live in accounting standards.

you’ll get

  • The chance to shape how controllership, reporting and treasury work as innocent continues to grow.
  • A role with real visibility, working closely with Finance & Strategy leaders and occasionally supporting conversations with the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
  • The opportunity to work across multiple countries, currencies, reporting requirements and business areas, so your brain should stay nicely busy.
  • A close partnership with internal finance teams, external audit partners, our outsourced finance provider and key teams at The Coca-Cola Company.
  • Space to improve processes, strengthen controls and spot opportunities for automation, rather than simply keeping the spreadsheet lights on.
  • A team to lead and develop, including roles across reporting and treasury, helping the function become sharper, clearer and more future-ready.

We want innocent to be a great place to work, so we do lots of stuff to make people feel at home and try to make sure everyone’s career is shaping up the way they want it to. There are plenty of opportunities to have a go at something new or take things further.

In exchange for helping us do business in the right way, you’ll get a solid rewards package that includes a salary (phew), private healthcare, a target-based bonus, and a bunch of other nice things like a day off on your birthday. And yes, you get free smoothies.

We also know that not all our drinkers come from the same background, or think the same – so why should we? At innocent, we want to be a great place to work where a diverse bunch of people from all backgrounds can turn up and thrive. When we hire, we want all the juice, bits, and pulp that make you who you are.

Even if you don’t think you can tick all the boxes, if the job sounds right for you, come and throw your hat in the ring.

Probably best to get your skates on though, as we might close this early if we get loads of applications.
